The lunch specials are very good, well worth the money and very tasty as well. The service was good. The only negative for me is the smell of the restaurant, and that is probably because of the tepal tables. It hits you when you walk in, but you get used to it.

This was not planned, but had dinner for New Year's Eve and lunch on New Year's Day. We had the pleasure of having Soony wait on our table on both days. Just a shout-out that she did an outstanding job in serving two big groups. Thank you to Peter, Soony and the rest of the wait staff for a job well done. Happy New Year's!!

Sakura Chaya is one of our favorite spots for high-quality Japanese food. We frequent this restaurant often, and it never fails to impress with its fresh, flavorful dishes and friendly service. If you're planning to enjoy the teppan-yaki experience, be prepared for a long wait because it is very popular here! However, we've found that for regular dining, we can usually walk in and get seated right away, which is a big plus for our family. We also order takeout from here regularly because it's much quicker than dining in. Just a small heads-up: while the takeout process is efficient, it's always a good idea to double-check your order before leaving. On a few occasions, we've had an item missing, but the staff has always been friendly and accommodating during the resolution process. Overall, Sakura Chaya remains a go-to for both dining in and takeout, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Japanese cuisine in Fresno!

The restaurant has both Teppan & Sushi ... I was on a quick mission and skipped Teppan, but the Sushi was outstanding! The service staff is attentive and energetic. The Sit-down bar with TV's was a great place to watch the playoffs.

Went on a Sunday for lunch with my friend and it was quite busy inside. The interior was nicely decorated and we were quickly seated at our table. We started with the Love Potion sushi and I got the Pork Katsu lunch. The sushi was packed with flavor and everything tasted fresh. I was impressed with the portion of the lunch special as it came with soup and salad plus a side of chicken teriyaki, tempura, and California roll. I would return if I visited Fresno again!

Chef Santo's Presentation was on point!! Recommending to sit At the sushi bar!! The chef was amazing. His humor was pretty funny. The environment was peaceful while watching the Dodgers lose.

This is the best teppanyaki restaurant in the area. Always great service and food. It's never to loud and it's always a fun time. The yum yum sauce or whatever it's called is the best in town!
